MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- "Chad's Triumph", released a little over a year ago and published by a small Christian organization in Oklahoma, is a story of actual events that took place thirty years ago and gained national media attention.
The story is about young Chad Green's life and the Chad Green Case that was heralded as the largest Parental Rights Case of it's time. "Chad's Triumph" tells of the struggle between young parents, a seriously ill child, and a very highly esteemed medical profession in Boston, Mass. The couple were guests on the "Good Morning America" show as well as appearing on "The Donahue Show" three times in different locations. Donahue was the largest talk show host of his era much like Oprah is today.
Chad's story is unique in many facets, but it is also a current event topic that continues to appear in the headlines with new names and faces such as that of Abraham Cherrix from Accomac, VA; Katie Wernecke from Corpus Christie, TX; and Anael L'Esperance from Quebec, Canada. All of these families chose alternative cancer treatments from 2005-2007 with varying degrees of legal entanglements and consequences. Their stories have been newsworthy additions to the topic that this book covers in great detail. In fact, "Chad's Triumph" is the pre-eminent predecessor to all of these life events shared by other cancer patients. However, after thirty years of reflection and raising children the authors conclusions may conflict with those who are still opting out of medical treatments for their offspring.
Diana J. Meyer has been invited to and completed several local book-signings. The book's release was a feature article on the front page of our local newspaper, 'The Hastings Tribune'. A reporter from Massachusetts made the announcement of the book on the front page of 'The Patriot Ledger' as well. Diana was also a guest on 'Today in the Heartland', which is a weekly human-interest section of the news on KHAS TV and she will be a guest on a local broadcast of 'Praise the Lord' airing from a station in St. Joseph, MO in November of this year. Diana's hope for this book is that through sharing about the hard learned lessons during Chad's brief life, many others will be ministered to, comforted, and encouraged.
